Looked after

Tackling comes in step by step.

Auskick has no tackling at all. From Under 9 it is taught carefully on a smaller ground, and the game grows with them. Netball runs the same way: modified rules for the youngest, the full game from Under 13.

  1. Ages 5 to 8

    Auskick

Skills and small games with a parent close by. No tackling at all.

  2. Under 9 and Under 10

    Modified footy

  3. Under 11 and Under 12

    More of the game

Bigger teams and more contact, with matched teams and coaches watching every contest.

  4. Under 13 to Under 17

    Full junior footy

The full game under junior rules, in teams by age, with separate girls teams.

  • Every coach is checked

A current Working with Children Check before anyone coaches, kept on a register.

  • If in doubt, sit them out

Questions parents ask

The short answers.

Is junior footy safe?

Auskick has no tackling at all. Tackling is taught carefully from Under 9 on a smaller ground, and contact builds up with age. Any player who may have a concussion comes off and follows our Concussion Policy before playing again.

Can girls play footy?

Yes. Girls play in mixed teams to Under 12 and then in girls teams. Our Under 14 Girls were 2026 premiers.

How much does it cost?

Junior netball from $160 and junior footy from $180 a season, up to $380 for senior footy. Early bird is $20 off before 30 November, and the third child from one family plays for half price.

How does Auskick work?

Auskick is for ages 5 to 8, on Friday nights from April on our main oval. You register through AFL Auskick from February, and every child gets a footy.

When is training?

In winter, junior footy trains on Tuesday after school, junior netball on Wednesday, senior netball on Monday night and senior footy on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Senior pre-season starts on 10 November.
